Cancellations Due to Extenuating Circumstances

In the rare instance where extenuating circumstances arise, a boater may need to cancel a confirmed reservation. In this instance, we advise the boater to officially request the cancellation through Dockwa - Cancel a Reservation through Dockwa

Before canceling, it is always important that you Check the Marina's Cancellation Policy first.  If you wish to discuss alternative options with the marina before canceling, like adjusting the dates or using the deposit as a credit for a future stay, you should send them a message directly through your confirmed reservation - Message a Marina on Dockwa.

If necessary, Dockwa will work with the marina and advocate on behalf of the boater with the boater's safety as our top priority.

Such cases may include:

  • There's a death in the boaters family
  • The boater has a serious illness or there's a serious illness in their family
  • There's a natural disaster
  • The boater has jury duty or other similar civil obligations
